Question
Freeview vs satellite vs cable which digital TV service do you use and why?
Answer
Personally, Id say satellite, hands down. Satellite offers a lot more channels than Freeview, and is not as expensive as people might think. It also provides better interactive features and a better program guide. Cable is limited in that not everywhere has cable. I cannot get cable up at the top of Scotland, so I it is not as accessible or readily available as satellite. So satellites main advantages are that it can be picked up almost anywhere, it has a lot more channels than Freeview, is better quality and more interactive. Main disadvantage is that it can produce a large bill if you subscribe to a lot of channels.brbrHowever, I would say that Freeview would be better for someone who doesnt watch that much TV someone who just wants something simple like ITV, or wants to be able to watch TV after the digital switchover. It like satellite is also more accessible and readily available. Its main advantage is that it is cheap. Disadvantages are occasional poor signal affected by weather, lower quality than satellite, and not as many channels.brbrI cannot fully conclude that cable is bad just because I dont have it. The service may be good, perhaps better than satellite. They may have better programming, I dont know. The only definate advantage of Cable is that it would not be affected by storms or bad weather, as satellite and freeview are. Disadvantages are that it is not available everywhere, installation may be a pest, and it may be costly.
