I have a upright freezer ice box. Can I lay it over to use it as a chest freezer?

I have a upright freezer ice box. Can I lay it over to use it as a chest freezer?
I think there may be a problem with gasses etc.

There is a problem, but it is with the compressor and the way it works... the oil in the system will leak out of the compressor, and when you turn the freezer on it will make a loud noise as the compressor tears itself apart. if you have already laid the machine on its side, give it a day or two for the oil to drain back to where it belongs.brbrME!brbrbrIve only worked on this type of equipment for years, so I could be wrong... but I doubt it! there is a new sonic AC motor, but it costs so much I doubt youd ask about skimping on trading in your upright for a chest...br.
